Charlotte, NC., Aug. 10, 2019 … Hendrick Construction has started construction on the 135-room Hyatt House at Rea Farms, a 188-acre mixed use development near the intersection of Providence and Ardrey Kell roads. The new hotel at 9930 Sandy Rock Place is expected to be complete late next summer.
Hyatt House will offer apartment-style spaces, with areas to work and relax. Guests will have a choice of studios and suites, each with fully-equipped kitchens including refrigerators, microwaves, stovetops and islands. Among the amenities are an outdoor patio and grilling area, a 24-hour fitness center, a swimming pool, public computers, and on-site laundry.
Also planned for the hotel is H BAR, an on-site lounge featuring craft cocktails and freshly prepared meals. Breakfast is included for guests and will feature an omelet bar.
The Hyatt House at Rea Farms is owned by OmShera Hotel Group. Overcash Demmitt is the architect.
“Hyatt House will offer a great mix of amenities for the business traveler,” said Roger Hendrick, president of Hendrick Construction. “One of the attractive features of this site is the abundance of retail and restaurants within steps of the hotel.”
Already, Rea Farms includes about 200,000 square feet of retail anchored by a large Harris Teeter and vast Life Time Athletic fitness complex. Duckworth’s Grill & Taphouse, Tandur Indian Kitchen, The Improper Pig and Mr. Toky Japanese Restaurant are just a few of the restaurants open.
A mix of apartments, single-family homes, townhouses and senior-living units are complete or under construction at Rea Farms. Four office buildings totaling more than 500,000 square feet of space is also forthcoming for the site. A K-8 Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math school to be operated by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is several years in the future.
The entire development is anchored by a Village Green, a 90-foot green space that runs east-west on the property and hosts a variety of events for the community.
